Trying out The Solus Operating System….

less than 1 minute read

This was the First time I was using an operating system not based on Debian. I have used Elementary OS based on Ubuntu, Ubuntu (which itself is based on Debian.) and its flavors like Lubuntu, Xubuntu and the Debian Operating System itself.
All those OS had many things in common. The package management using apt, dpkg and vast availability of packages(Thanks to the upstream Debian developers who made this ecosystem possible).
The main problem for me was the missing of apt. Because in those operating systems, i used to apt a lot.
As you may have already known, I am running this site on Jekyll. As soon as I installed I tried to Install Jekyll. After couple of tries and search, I succeeded in Installing it on Solus. You can read more about it here.
